What if we told you that one of the most popular subcompact crossovers is one you’ve never heard of? You might scoff, but it’s true. It’s the Ford EcoSport, which has been offered in global markets for years. Now, its next generation is kicking off, and it’s coming to America to infect us with its utility-packed cuteness.
Set to arrive for the 2018 model year, the EcoSport will slot just below the Escape in the Blue Oval’s CUV size hierarchy. Like its larger sibling, the EcoSport will boast the same front end, but that’s where the similarities end. Under hood, the small ‘ute is motivated by either a 1.0-liter turbo or 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, but gas mileage and power numbers are still forthcoming. We expect this car to arrive in lots in 2018.
